As the Interval drew to a close, the two queens, Tarazeth and Charath, Rose at the same time. Through a tremendous force of will, the two weyrwomen kept the dragons from killing each other, and both Flew successfully. But the effort nearly killed the Sr. Weyrwoman, already ill from a difficult pregnancy, and she died soon after the Flight.
Egg-heavy, Tarazeth could not between, and she soon grew thin and pale, refusing all food. She Clutched only four eggs, one a queen, then vanished forever, seeking the solace of death. It was left to Charath to guard the double-Clutch, and she settled down to brood.
As if the death of the Sr. queen was not enough, a rider on a strange, pale dragon with green eyes--an albinorider--came to the Weyr, begging that some come forward in time to save the future. Many left, leaving Stormheart with only a few dragons with which to protect the skies.
Save us. Watch the skies.

Stormheart Weyr has struggled to survive against new enemies and strange happenings, from the eruption of the previously dormant volcano beneath Fort Weyr, to the discovery of a Weyr so far to the South and so long separated from the rest of Pern that even the dragons are different. A Weyr long abandoned began to rouse itself, led by the self-declared "Weyrfirst," D'lun of black Noirth. And then the first albino queen on the face of the planet cast herself into the sky on maiden Flight.

Not just another Flight-Hatch cycle Weyr, we focus on plot, complete with "personal plots" for various characters and "mini-plots" for smaller groups within the Weyr.
With the merit-based Eastern Weyr and the more traditional Stormheart Weyr to choose from, as well as the option of characters from the mysterious and unusual Southron Weyr, there's a place for every character.
