What if Lessa failed? What if Pern had no heroes from the past? Join us at Shards of Pern, where we explore the possibility that Lessa failed in her attempt to bring forward the Oldtimers, leaving Benden Weyr with the burden of repopulating all of dragonkind at the beginning of the Ninth Pass. The action is set in the Fort Region, with Fort Weyr having just been reopened by 200 dragonriders. We are a mostly-canon Weyr. We don't support a wide rainbow of colors - just the basic five - and we have tried to stay true to the early books in the series, before Pern went too far afield and lost what made it gritty and interesting! Firelizards will be part of the story; whers will not. Girls will Impress to green dragons, but never to blues or browns. Rather than stretch the boundaries of canon, we've opted to explore the social, political, and adventurous aspects within Pern. Updates! -- Firelizards have recently been discovered on the Southern Continent, and a clutch was purchased for the Spring Gather at Fort Hold. There's still time to Impress one if you hurry to join! -- Bronzeriders are in high demand right now. We have three adoptable bronze characters: J'star, V'men, and R'klin - the latter of whom rides Reoth, sire to the the clutch coming to Fort Weyr. -- Female greenriders will Impress at the first Hatching. Come create a character to break tradition and ride green! -- Gold Sierryth rose in her maiden Flight at Benden Weyr. The eggs have already been promised to help the fledgling Fort get on its feet, and the queen will clutch her eggs (around the end of January). This will be the game's first Hatching! A queen egg will be part of this Hatching, so come create a candidate character! The Hatching is scheduled for late February or early March, and there's time to create a candidate up until the first egg Hatches. Join us at pernshards.proboards.com.

Updates! -- Firelizards have Impressed for the first time in known memory, and the lucky few that managed to acquire one at the Fort Hold spring Gather are minor celebrities in their own way. -- There are still a few open positions for bronzeriders, especially those interested in being Wingleaders and the Weyrleader - eventually. If one of Fort's two queens manages to rise one of these days. -- Gold Sierryth's maiden Flight - though occurring over Benden Weyr - will bring the first clutch of eggs to Fort's sands in centuries. Be one of the candidates that will make history on those sands! Particularly sought are male candidates - and the future female greenriders that will redefine dragonriding during a Pass that already puts Pern on the brink of destruction. Join us at Shards of Pern, where we explore the possibility that Lessa failed in her attempt to bring forward the Oldtimers, leaving Benden Weyr with the burden of repopulating all of dragonkind at the beginning of the Ninth Pass. The action is set in the Fort Region, with Fort Weyr having been reopened in recent months by a posting of 200 dragonriders. Updates! -- Fort Weyr flies thread for the first time (post ongoing). With no decisive leadership yet - with no queen having yet risen over Fort's skies to confirm a Weyrleader - it's rough-going, and the Wings have taken heavy losses. Their numbers already dwindling, some begin to question whether or not they can continue to fight with so short a supply of healthy dragons. The clutching starts on February 6th, and we'll be accepting candidates until the Hatching begins in March! -- Fort Hold is under siege. As if it weren't enough that Lord Groghe recently passed away and his reckless son is now the unlikely Lord presumptive, the Hold has been attacked by one of Fax's sons. The Heir has been imprisoned and the holders are under lock-and-guard while the renegades establish their possession. It's a great time to play a holder or crafter, as both heroes and villains are needed for this plot. -- Harper Hall remains leaderless. Robinton died over eight months ago, and the bickering Masters can't decide on his replacement. But it looks like Ukrisc - a man marked as a misogynist and clearly not the sort of person anyone would have expected to become Masterharper - may be drawing enough votes to launch himself into the premier position. What will this mean for the usually female-friendly Crafthall? Join us at pernshards.proboards.com.

Updates! -- Some remark, with understandable concern, that the young queen Sierryth may have overdone it a bit with her eggs. They were clutched three weeks early, for starters, and she laid forty-six of them - including a queen egg. Although all seem healthy and the gold is quite proud of them, the problem is really two-fold. First, what if there's something wrong with the eggs? Second, where in the world is Fort going to find candidates for that many eggs?! -- Speaking of candidates... characters are now being accepted as candidates to Impress at a Hatching in March! -- Fort Hold is under siege. Was under siege? It's hard to say, right now! After being attacked and besieged by a group of renegades lead by one of Fax's sons - yes, that Fax - the Hold is currently in a state of chaos. It seems that a group of holders (and one of the renegades themselves?) is in the midst of a rescue effort. Poison, adventure, murder, danger - it has all the makings of a great epic tale. Provided the heroes don't wind up getting themselves killed for their efforts. Join us at pernshards.proboards.com.

Updates! -- Forty-six eggs. That's an awful lot for a Weyr still trying to secure a footing after hundreds of Turns of vacancy. Will Fort Weyr be able to support forty-six dragonets and forty-six weyrlings? Will they even be able to find enough candidates, given their own lower caverns are slim pickin's? (It's a great time to create a candidate character and join in on the game's first Hatching set for March!) -- Liberated by the efforts of some very unlikely heroes - a female Starsmith apprentice, a fellis-addict Healer, a kitchen girl, and the Lord's little sister - Fort Hold survived a siege by renegades. Now it's time to get the Hold back in order and start finalizing some details of the confirmation of the new Lord. -- After a long delay, Harper Hall finally announced their new Masterharper. Some laud the appointment as a return to tradition, while others remark that his sexism is sure to be a step backward for a Hall with a long-standing liberal attitude. Will women still be accepted in the Hall? And what will happen to all the female apprentices and journeymen that already call themselves Harpers? Join us at pernshards.proboards.com.
