Dragon:Black Jasmiith
Apperance: Sari is a very plain girl of equally plain genetics. Her sun-tanned skin holds a slightly deeper pigment, as though her distant ancestors were of Hispanic or Greek ancestry, though its been so long blended with other races and peoples its impossible to know - not that the Pernese even remember racial divisions. Her hair is naturally loosly curled, lending to a perpetual wind-blown lack of order in the dark brown locks she usually tries to keep braided or controlled with ties. Her eyes are as dark as her hair, with the smallest tinge of green that turns them from basic brown to a faint hazel, though the definition is slight at best. Of average height and weight for a girl in her late adolescence, Sari holds little about her to take much note in. Her clothing is plain, preferring skirts or loose trousers and light shirts with no sleeves or ones that billow to provide a better circulation, and simple sandals to cap it off. Most of them are simple earthen colors, but she does spare a couple of sets in bright blues and greens for times when finer wear is needed, and even a necklace and bracelet made of hammer bits of brassy-gold metal when she really needs a little extra.
Personality: Sari is a woman with fire in her blood and a personality as prickly as a needlethorn. Though never quite able to be considered mean, she is very honest in her opinions regardless if her opinion would even be welcome, and her aggression is not something to be taken lightly. Ambition is her favorite pasttime, and there is rarely a moment where she's not seeking to eek out a spot one rung higher in the social ladder. Second place is not somewhere she's content to be, and woe unto anyone who tries to hold her back. However, there is... somewhere underneath all that pomp and circumstance, a more gentle lady. It just takes more patience to find it than most people can suffer, but maybe some poor soul will discover it one of these days. Let's just hope they have a strong constitution and a very forgiving personality.
Biography: Sari was born at High Reaches, screaming at the top of her lungs and hasn't stopped much for breath since. A high-strung child at best, Sari was a natural little hellion, who's bratty and demanding attitude kept her poor, weaver mother at wit's end to cater to her needy daughter. I want that toy. I want that bubbly. That dress is mine. This toy is mine. And no, he doesn't need that toy anymore, but I do! If there was one thing Sari lacked, beyond the dotings of her mother and the constant supply of goodies just to keep her pacified, it was friends. Afterall, who'd want to be friends with someone who's only interested in you for your toys?
As she neared the age of ten, her mother tried to encourage her daughter to consider taking up her craft, but Sari had other things in mind. She wanted to be a dragonrider like her father, and there was little doubt to the heights her ambitions were soaring. To heck with everything else, this was her dream, and she would -have it-. Much to the dismay of the candidate masters at High Reaches, some green did search the child out three years later, though there was some attempt at joking the girl just cried her eyes out hard enough that the dragon took pity on her. It was also with a sigh of relief that the Sari walked off the sands dragonless when the day came, her face as red with rage and unhappiness as a hungry hatchling's eye. A second chance, though, was soon to come. Several years later, as luck would have it, riders from the newly developed Crater Weyr came seeking candidates for their eggs, and an older but no more wiser Sari was first in line. And so, with luggage in tow and her ambitions soaring once more, Sari was brought to Crater where it would be shown if she really had what it takes to be a dragonrider.. or if she only thought she did.
As it turns out, it was her time to shine - though most would argue that it was new new lifemate that took the bulk of the attention. During an egg touching, a tremor kickstarted the hatching, and after much undignified bouncing around the Arabian Nights Egg, previously protected along with the queen egg by their mother Cymryth, split in twain and spilled out the shockingly black dragon who announced herself to Sari as Jasmiith. Sari was more than pleased to be paired with this exotic and beautiful dragon, and the pair prepared to began weyrlinghood as soon as stomachs were filled.
Weyrling would prove Jasmiith was just as domineering and difficult as was expected, and not only did she find fault with most other dragons and riders, but she nearly drove her own rider to drink with her vanity. Jasmiith even went to far as to drive away Sari's firelizard, insisting the little creature drove her mad and she would not be willing to share her rider with anyone. Sari forgave her, of course, she could do nothing else, but weyrlinghood still proved a trying time, and one of many to come.
It was Jasmiith who was leading the weyrlings on their Betweening lessons the day they all disappeared. Too eager to lead and prove she was the superior leader to her golden sister, she passed an image that wasn't correct. It was Crater, but... not. When the weyrlings returned some fifteen minutes later, it was to a shocked crowd. Once small and wide-eyed, the weyrlings were now grown, and the most haunted looking of them all was the grown woman and her equally grown Black.
